As an investment director of Wellington's private investment platform, Stephen is responsible for the business and investment oversight of the firm’s early-stage venture and climate growth strategies. He helps oversee all aspects of these investment capabilities including fund governance, product development, risk management, marketing, operations, and investor relations. He also coordinates the strategy, fundraising, and messaging for the funds.
Prior to joining Wellington Management in 2025, Stephen was a Director at BlackRock (2021-2024) where he led strategic growth and product innovation for the transition investing platform. Previously, he was an advisor to the chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (2019-2021) where he helped lead the first-ever federal advisory committee examining the impact of climate risk on financial markets, and worked in the Environmental Markets Group at Goldman Sachs (2014-2018).
Stephen earned his MBA and MPP from Harvard Business School and Kennedy School (2021) and his AB in public policy and sustainable energy from Princeton University (2014).
