15 June 2021 – I am very pleased to provide an update on our firm’s leadership. Effective 1 July 2021, Terry Burgess will join Jean Hynes and Steve Klar as one of three Managing Partners of Wellington Management Group, LLP. Terry was elected by the Partners to succeed me as Managing Partner following my retirement on 30 June 2021. Separately, as previously announced, Jean Hynes will succeed me as CEO.
Terry is the head of Investment Boutiques, which includes nearly 50 investment teams working across asset classes and around the world. He will continue in this role in addition to assuming the responsibilities of Managing Partner. Over the course of his 15 years at the firm, Terry has held a variety of management roles across product and investment groups, including serving as head of Investment Research. He has served on a variety of firmwide committees, and he became a Partner in 2014.
Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Terry held various positions at MFS Investment Management (1993 – 2005), including equity analyst covering basic resources, cable, media, and telecom. He earned his MBA from Boston College (1999) and his BA in economics and political science from Bates College (1993).
Sincerely,
Brendan J. Swords
CEO
