As a fixed income and global insurance strategist, Amar delivers investment insights to Wellington’s clients and investors on fixed income allocations, market dynamics, and strategies. He is also the publisher of Wellington’s Fixed Income Monthly Drivers and Observations and serves as an external representative on the United Nations Development Fund’s investment committee.

Amar has more than two decades of experience in both public and private fixed income. Before joining Wellington in 2018, he was a fixed income and asset allocation strategist at Grantham Mayo Van Otterloo, and prior to that was deputy director of the Office of Debt Management at the US Treasury Department. Amar has also worked in portfolio management at UBS Global Asset Management and fixed income derivatives at Merrill Lynch. He began his career as a credit analyst at UBS Investment Bank.

Amar earned a BA from Vassar College and an MS in European political economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He earned his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
