    Information we collect
    We may collect non-public personal information about you on RFPs, questionnaires, and other forms we receive from you, as well as from personal contacts such as correspondence, e-mail, telephone calls, or meetings.     Information sharing
    Wellington Management seeks to provide seamless service to all clients. To facilitate that process, information regarding client accounts is shared broadly between affiliates within the Wellington Management group of companies. For example, an affiliate may share information with other affiliates in order to facilitate portfolio management or provide client liaison services to a particular client. Client information may be used by Wellington Management in order to identify potential client needs for additional investment management services.

    Wellington Management generally does not share non-public client information with unaffiliated third parties, except as necessary to perform the investment management services it has been hired to provide. For example, Wellington Management may share non-public client information with brokers and custodian banks in order to buy and sell securities and record those purchases and sales accurately. Internships and co-ops

We offer internship and co-op opportunities at both the undergraduate and MBA level throughout the firm, globally. Each program is designed to ensure interns gain valuable industry experience while learning about our firm.

  • Undergraduate diversity internship

    At the undergraduate level, Wellington Management has a Boston and Chicago based summer internship program. The internship takes place between June and August and typically lasts 10-12 weeks. 

    While the internship program focuses on targeting underrepresented groups in investment management (women and people of color), the program is inclusive, therefore any qualified candidates can apply. Overall, we seek talented, dedicated students with a broad range of backgrounds and experiences.

  • Global opportunities

    Wellington Management has selectively established offices to support global investing and our global client base. Our relationship management teams actively serve clients in their own time zones. The proximity, coupled with their local market knowledge, enables relationship managers to focus on issues unique to each client's investment environment. With the growth of our global offices, we are now able to offer more opportunities for undergraduates. Below are the current offices with opportunities:

    Beijing
    Wellington Management offers investment research opportunities in the Beijing office. The program typically takes place during the summer. Eligible candidates are sourced from Peking University and Tsinghua University. Please contact your career services office for more information.

    Hong Kong
    Wellington Management offers undergraduate investment research opportunities in the Hong Kong office. Eligible candidates are sourced from local universities and should be eligible to work in Hong Kong. Please contact the undergrad mailbox for more information.

    London
    Wellington Management offers various undergraduate opportunities in London. Roles are available in areas such as Client Services, Global Relationship Group, Investment Research, Legal, Risk Service's, Trading and Wellington Funds Group.     Singapore
    Wellington Management offers investment research and information technology opportunities based in the Singapore office. Interested undergraduates must be in their penultimate year and eligible to work in Singapore. The program recruits directly from the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, and Singapore Management University.     Sydney
    Wellington Management offers internships working with the portfolio services in the Sydney office. Applicants should be penultimate year students who are eligible for work in Australia.     Tokyo
    Wellington Management offers opportunities for up to six months in the Tokyo Office. Applicants need to be eligible to work in Japan. Please contact your careers services office for more information.

  • MBA internship

    Wellington Management hires MBA interns into Equity Product Management. Over the course of 10-12 weeks in the summer, our MBA interns encounter a highly challenging and rewarding experience that offers insights into the investment management profession and Wellington Management. Interns work in a designated area of the firm and are assigned a specific project or projects to complete.

    Assignments are often global in scope and interns may travel to visit companies, attend conferences, or spend time in another Wellington Management office. Our goal is to provide broad exposure to people and experiences across the firm and an understanding of what it would be like to work at Wellington Management as a full-time employee.

    We hire MBA summer interns in anticipation of our full-time hiring needs. Candidates should be in their first year of study. Although we have no predetermined hiring targets, interns are viewed as potential candidates for our full-time positions.

There are many ways to develop your professional career. Some Wellington Management employees go on to part-time graduate studies using the firm's tuition reimbursement benefit. Some pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation through Wellington Management's CFA® program. Others decide to go back to school full time to pursue graduate studies.   • Business associate

    A full-time, three-year opportunity for graduating Bachelor's students who are interested in a variety of career opportunities available in the investment management industry. This program will help you gain insight into our industry, firm, and culture.

    Successful candidates are high-performing, talented students who are intellectually curious and self-motivated. Upon completion of this program, participants may be placed into positions across the firm that are complementary to their skills, interests, and business needs. To qualify, you will need to graduate in the 2018 – 2019 academic calendar year, be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in any major, and have a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA. You will be hired into one of the following groups in our Boston office for 2019:

  • Investment science associate

    A full-time, up to five-year opportunity in our Investment Science Group suitable for bachelor’s and master’s students.

    The world is full of fascinating questions. As an investment science associate, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in complex data sets, research challenging investment questions, and solve problems with modern data science techniques — from idea generation and prototyping to validation and production.

    Examples of the nature of the work include:

    • Building predictive models and identifying and validating public data sources to build out data-driven investment hypotheses
    • Completing complex analytical projects and statistical analyses across securities, asset classes, and economic relationships
    • Assisting with portfolio construction, factors, risk management, and trading analysis
    • Creating visualizations and dashboard views using various data sets
    • Working with structured and unstructured data
    • Researching macroeconomic themes and factors

    Investment science associates will act as internal investment science consultants and research analysts, providing quantitative research to the firm’s talented community of investors. These insights will enable the firm to make prudent financial decisions to benefit thousands of retirees, savers, and institutions.   • Launch research associate

    A full-time, up to five-year opportunity in our Investment Management Group suitable for undergraduate students, non-MBA students, and people with 1 – 3 years of work experience.

    The goal of the Launch Research Associate (RA) Program is to provide flexible, value-added analytical resources to support the firm’s mission of superior investment performance. We endeavor to develop and identify exceptional Launch RAs to build our pipeline of talented investors. Through a series of multiple rotations, program participants will play a critical role in assisting experienced analysts and portfolio managers in conducting research and implementing their investment process. Interested candidates should have geographic flexibility. For our 2019 hiring needs, a majority of the positions are based in our Boston headquarters, but opportunities also exist globally, in London and Singapore. Positions will be sourced from local, partnered universities by each office's recruitment team.

    Examples of the nature of the work include:

    Successful candidates are high-performing, talented students who are intellectually curious, self-motivated, and client-service oriented. Upon completion of this program, participants may be placed into positions within Client Services or across the firm, depending on their skills, interests, and our business needs. To qualify, you will need to graduate in the 20182019 academic calendar year, be pursuing a bachelor's degree in any major, and have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

  • Technology associate

    A full-time, entry-level opportunity in Information Technology for graduating Bachelor's students.

    Wellington Management is seeking individuals to be part of the Technology Associate Program in the Information Technology department. As a Technology Associate, you will develop the foundation to build a successful career in financial technology. Working as part of a dynamic team focused on delivering cutting edge solutions to business problems, successful candidates will gain in-depth understanding of the investment management industry and the technology that drives portfolio management, portfolio analysis, trading, and client engagement.
