Social media platforms are a common target for corporate phishing or malware attacks. To protect our Clients and Firm, it is important to be vigilant when using social media.
Be cautious when:
- Clicking on links- make sure the url is redirecting you to where you think you are going and taking you to an official site.
- Limit the amount of personal information you share.
- And be mindful of who you connect with.
Wellington Management has a presence on the following Social Media Platforms:

Regularly monitor your accounts for any suspicious activity and report any suspicious activity or potentially imposter accounts by selecting Report Spam from the drop-down options in our Contact US form.
The only domains for Wellington email communications are wellington.com and consultantemail.com.
If you receive any emails from other domains claiming to be from Wellington Management, please report them by selecting Report Spam from the drop-down options in our Contact Us form.
Scammers are known to impersonate legitimate businesses by phone, voice message or text to request money or personal information from you.
To protect yourself from these types of attacks:
- Be suspicious of unknown senders and callers,
- Don't take caller ID as a reliable source of identity.
- Don't click on links in unexpected text messages.
If someone claiming to work for Wellington calls or texts you unexpectedly or suspiciously, hang up and reach us through one of our Official office phone numbers.
Things to look out for
- Websites that may appear related to Wellington Management: Be aware of variations in internet domains which include the word “Wellington” within their name. Some examples of fraudulent look alike names for Wellington may be, but are not limited to, wellingtontransaction.site, wellinvests.uk, wellingtoncareerconnect.com, and others. Fraudulent websites may copy Wellington official websites, text, images, logos, and other content.

These fake personas will likely be used in conjunction with look alike domains, social media platforms, chat platforms, or other platforms in an attempt to legitimize the scammer's offerings.

Wellington does not perform business transactions, payment requests, or direct interactions through social media platforms.
- Unsolicited Emails with Job Offers: Wellington follows a traditional recruitment process that requires a formal application process and video interviews with the hiring manager and other stakeholders. Wellington will never require a pre-payment or request that candidates deposit checks. For more information on this type of scam visit the Federal Trade Commision Consumer Advice website.
- Text Messages: Wellington does not use text messages to conduct business. Internet scammers frequently use text messages requesting the recipient to click through a link or engage in further conversation. These attempts may lead to phishing sites where scammers may attempt to steal passwords or to convince someone to purchase gift cards for the scammer.
- Bank Transfers: Always validate wire transfers and bank payments by telephone with trusted third parties using phone numbers that exist on file. If a client makes changes to wire instructions or related information, Wellington will verify these changes by calling and validating the information. Email is not a secure way to make changes to bank transfer details. Always verify with a trusted third party by telephone.
- Sense of Urgency: Cyber criminals often attempt to coerce or pressure victims to make payments, respond to emails, or take related actions. Beware of any contact you receive which encourages you to make decisions or payments with urgency.
