As an equity portfolio manager on the Global Stewards Team, Sam manages concentrated, long-term investment strategies that seek portfolio companies with strong performance and corporate stewardship profiles. Before assuming his current role, he was an equity research analyst focused on durables. Prior to joining Wellington in 2019, Sam was a portfolio manager, analyst, and co-director of equity research at Putnam Investments. He served as a health care analyst and managed or co-managed the firm’s growth opportunities, research, and global health care strategies. He also helped manage and develop the equity research team. Before that, he was an equity research analyst at Fidelity Institutional Asset Management specializing in global medical technology and life sciences companies. He also worked for the Rock Creek Group and as a consulting associate with Cambridge Associates. Sam holds a BA in politics, philosophy, and economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
