Derek is the lead portfolio manager of the firm’s Global Credit Team, responsible for setting overall portfolio strategy for the Global and Euro Credit portfolios as well as developing sector and security selection strategy within euro- and sterling-denominated credit markets.

Prior to joining Wellington in 2013, Derek was a senior portfolio manager at ECM Asset Management focused on European credit. Before that, he worked in the quantitative credit strategy group at Credit Suisse.

Derek earned a BAFS in actuarial and financial studies, with first-class honors, from the University College Dublin. He also obtained certification from the Securities and Futures Authority Limited (SFA).
