As an investment director of Wellington on Wellington's Private Investments Capital Formation Team, Sonali leads the firm’s product and commercial strategy for private credit, overseeing the development, structuring and distribution of the firm’s strategies in this area. She serves as business and investment oversight of these strategies and coordinates the strategy, fundraising, and messaging for the funds. She is also responsible for fund governance and risk oversight, product development and investor relations. She is based in New York.
Sonali brings nearly 20 years of experience in alternatives. Prior to joining Wellington, she was executive vice president of alternatives at PIMCO where she was responsible for driving sales across hedge funds and private markets, including private debt and opportunistic strategies across corporate credit, specialty finance and real estate. Her experience also includes investor relations and marketing roles with BlueMountain Capital Management and Och-Ziff Capital Management. She began her career at Goldman Sachs within their investment banking division.
Sonali graduated magna cum laude from New York University’s Stern School of Business (2006) where she earned her bachelor’s degree with majors in finance and accounting and a minor in political science.
