As the investment team leader of the firm’s Global Macro Strategy effort and a member of the Global Bond Team, John leads our global macroeconomic strategy efforts and contributes to the management of global portfolios for the firm’s clients around the world. He focuses on macro forecasting and analysis and monetary policy for the UK and Europe, as well as the global cycle, translating key macro data into investable ideas and themes and working closely with investors around the firm.
Prior to joining Wellington in 2007, John was the head of UK and European economics at HSBC Investment Bank. Before that, he worked at the Bank of England in its monetary analysis department, providing forecasts for the Monetary Policy Committee and contributing to the quarterly inflation report.
John has an MSc in economics as well as a first-class BSc degree in economics, both from the London School of Economics.
