Van helps manage the firm’s private company investment activity in diverse early-stage companies and venture capital funds, working closely with portfolio managers, global industry analysts, and other global research resources within the firm to identify and pursue investments.
Prior to joining Wellington Management, Van was a partner at Drive Capital with a particular focus on enterprise SaaS and cloud-based data infrastructure companies (2019 – 2021). Prior to working at Drive Capital, he co-founded Hello Tractor, an ag-tech company based in Nigeria which focused on improving food and income security throughout sub-Saharan Africa (2014 – 2019).
Van began his career in China advising large multi-national corporations on leveraging predictive analytics to de-risk new product launches within emerging markets (2008 – 2012).
Van holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business (2014) and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati (2008).
