February 2009
Dear Contributor,
Each year at this time we publish a special edition of our e-newsletter to announce our grant awards. Thanks to your generosity, and despite difficult financial times, the Foundation was able to award $750,000 this year to 34 organizations that improve the education of economically disadvantaged youth. This is a 15% increase over last year’s total grant amount.
Our funded programs fall into six major categories, based on participants and how they are served:
- Preschools – 4 organizations
- Middle Schools– 6 organizations, including 1 new grantee
- High Schools- 2 organizations, including 1 new grantee
- Out of School Time Programs – 10 organizations, including 1 new grantee
- Access and Success Programs – 12 organizations, including 1 new grantee
